How do you like them apples?

Apple season has begun! I love apple season because it means everything fall will follow! Picking out an apple can be tough. Are you baking? Making sauce? Or trying to munch on one right now? There are so many different varieties it can be hard to choose the right one.

Our wine specialist Cindy has put together a pairing guide just for you! If the classic turkey pairing of Pinot Noir is not your favorite there are other great wines that pair wonderfully with turkey, or whatever else you may be consuming! Cheers!

It’s a blue time for blueberries, they are almost done! Hopefully we will have them for a couple more weeks here at Sawyer Home & Garden Center, but there is no guarantee. Now is the time to stock up and freeze some blueberries so you can enjoy them this fall! You can pick up a 5 or 10 pound box from our Famers Market everyday between the hours of 8:00am and 8:00pm.

The scent of freshly picked cherries and berries fills the air of our farmers market every morning. It is such a satisfying sight to see more and more signs read “Locally Grown in Michigan”.  This may be the last few days of strawberries and asparagus, but green beans and peppers will be here soon!

I can’t believe 2014 is over already! What a great year! We all know that a new year means we have to come up with something we should improve on over the next year. These resolutions usually last about a month before our busy lives take over and we forget what we even promised ourselves we would do. However, the most popular New Year’s Resolution is to eat healthier and/or lose weight.
